Pediatric and Adolescent Physical Therapy

How can pediatric and adolescent PT services help my child?

If your child has an injury or a chronic health condition, our physical therapy services may be able to help. PT services can help your child to regain function, mobility, and increase their strength.

How does it work?

Depending on your child’s current condition, my team and I will create a custom plan to meet all their goals. By combining physical therapy exercises and stretching that targets your child’s specific injury or condition, we are able to help them heal from their injuries as well as manage pain.

When will my child start to see results?

In terms of results, it simply depends on your child’s injury or condition. Some can see results and improvement right away. Other situations may take days or weeks to start healing.

Here at Evolve, I work with patients of all ages including children and adolescents. My skilled team of physical therapists and I want to help your children reach their goals, and our individualized treatment plans allow for healing and growth. We will teach your children exercises that can help them recover from their injuries, as well as help to prevent them in the future.

Physical therapy for children is different because sometimes children may not understand why they are in physical therapy. For children, it is important that pediatric development treatment plans are effective as well as fun to keep them motivated.

When working with adolescents, our team is encouraging and motivating. It is important to have a great relationship so that together we can reach their goals. At Evolve, I see a lot of sports related injuries in this age group. Over the years i’ve seen that is is beneficial to have structured and creative physical therapy plans in place to help your adolescent recover from their injuries.

What is the first step in the recovery process for my child?

For any patient, children included, our first step is to evaluate. This allows us to create your child’s unique custom care plan. We will focus on muscle strength, joint mobility, and other areas in order to help your children and adolescents improve any limited mobility that they may have, and to treat their injuries.

What can be treated with pediatric and adolescent physical therapy?

There are many areas in which pediatric and adolescent patients may need physical therapy including accident or injury, developmental delays, genetic disorders, orthopedic disabilities, limb deficiencies, and muscle coordination concerns.
